Model Profile: Robyn Lawley

We all know that models are suppose to be "skinny" especially if your a runway model. In the midst of today does that really matter now? Australian native, Robyn Lawley, has been captivating the industry with her "plus size" physique ever since her shoot for Vogue Italia which by the way was photographed by Steven Meisel (A big deal for any model) Franca Sozzani, editor-in-chief behind the glossy pages of Vogue Italia has chosen plus size models to show that "curvy" can evoke sexy and confidence. In her modeling career she has been on the cover of Elle France, has done editorials for Austrialian Cosmopolitan, H&M, & now has reign the pages Vogue Australia for an editorial for the September issue. The Aussie native has have a promising start for being in the modeling industry as a plus size model for a little less than a year now. Robyn entered the modeling industry by being told by her drama teacher that she should try out modeling and to that she took to consideration when she was just 15 years old. She then enrolled in a magazine competition which led to a contract. Givenchy Mens Fall/Winter 2011

For Givenchy Mens, Riccardo Tisci, showcased a nostalgic and gloomy collection. The main focus in this collection was the multiple furious bulldogs. Shown in different ways such as in button-up shirts, shorts, silk scarfs. The color palette was extremely  chic and very wearable for the customer. What intrigued me about the collection were the shirts. How it started at the top as plaid and further to the middle was just plain white and to the very bottom was a print of barking bulldog faces. Sneakers play an important role in Tisci's lifestyle. He used various colors and different versions. Lace-up thigh high sneaker/boots and a high sole. Lately, I've been noticing that womenswear is starting to convert to menswear. Man leggings, as they say, are gradually being socially accepted. Nonetheless, the collection in my view, was ironic and craftsmanship to the finest. I think Tisci is trying to say with this collection is that, women shouldn't be the only one to dress like their not part of a movement. Men should dress the way they want, no matter the harsh criticism. I do believe individuals should dress much more sophisticated and individualistic because no one looks "cute" when both people have the same pair of anything or "clones" as I call them.

Let The Pre-Fall Begin!

Thank god that the pre-fall collections are starting. As you can see below are some looks from Michael Kors pre-fall collection. This collection was not only chic but modern as well. Kors knows what women want and women want Kors. Oscar De La Renta live streamed his pre-fall show today, and by the way it was beyond major! Oscar is just amazing, his designs are so elegant and so sexy at the same time but without being vulgar at that. Various of colors like bright green, wine red, pale pink, pumpkin, powder blue, orange-yellow, and just a beautiful color palette. I'll post pictures when they come out. Rag & Bone also debuted their collection. Marcus and David had used model Hanne Gaby Odiele to model the collection. The first shot was a stripe tee with a leather neck line and a maxi skirt with a leather waist band and pocket line, beyond chic. And it also official the maxi skirt is the new jean. Mesh was used too with the stripe tee, incredibly chic. All in all I'm loving the pre-fall. Below are some of my favorites of Rag & Bone. Photos are from Vogue or occasionally Style.
